The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) hosted a “Pass the Bacon” campaign this past week in honor of October Pork Month. IPPA gave Illinois legislators an opportunity to nominate their local pantry and I nominated the Elmhurst/Yorkfield Food Pantry. I visited and met with a long time employee Jeanne Cox who gave me a tour. She also explained the pantry is still not having people go inside, but are provided a list of available items to take home and they bring the groceries out to the cars. The pantry and their employees are available for our community when members are in need. I appreciate their work and the donation by the IPPA.
